San Guo La Mien: Reviews & Ratings
Now I know why a lot of customers are queued and willing to wait to get seated here. People come back for the food. The pulled noodles are very good. The soup is heavenly. And the customer service esp. the crews are veey attentive and helpful and are happy to serve.
Was introduced to Japanese ramen first so not really expecting something from the primal 'la mien'. Pinoy 'mami' usually comes into mind when hearing Chinese noodles however our experience here proved this connotation wrong. Absolutely delicious noodle soup! The fried rice on the other hand although having that 'wok hei' need some seasoning
It's all about the food and service. The food arrived quickly, which was impressive. I've dined here before and it was just ok. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a "wow" factor in the taste. For me the flavour is quite standard, even though the portion size is generous. The restaurant is quite congested, with tables placed inches away from each other, and you can literally overhear other customers life stories hehe
Went for dinner and surprisingly it was not that busy. Staff are very attentive and courteous. Serving of food is also fast and volume was also fairly plenty! After placing the order, the beef wonton noodles came in less than 5 mins! Highly recommended and will come back again.
We've been regular customers since 2010 starting in their Masangkay branch. You can see how they make the noodles from outside which got us curious and tried their food. Our all time favorite is cha lamien, regardless if seafood, chicken, or beef. And always paired with dumplings two-way (half-half, fried and steamed). For the drinks, we usually get either calamansi juice or gulaman. You can get free soup, just ask the server in advance. They have large servings. One order can be shared by 2 people.
We're satisfied with our orders. The beef Lamien was well-cooked, and they served a generous amount of noodles and vegetables with it. The soup was nice. I highly recommend their dumplings We were the 2nd customer that morning, they accommodated us very well especially when I was asking about their menu. They gave free healthy tea. They served everything fast. I noticed that they have all male staff, I suggest hiring some women. The surroundings were great Will definitely back again.
One of the most famous Chinese restaurants in Binondo, San Guo La Mien stars hand-pulled noodles with authentic oriental taste. It’s always full especially during lunch time, attesting to how popular the place is. They also offer special dips and sauces. Pros: -Generous serving -Free green tea -Cohesive menu and wide selection -Considerable fast service Con: -Above average price range
Been a fan of their Benavidez branch since 2018 and kept coming back for it. However, after the pandemic, it was closed when we went there. Funny thing was, I saw one of their crew walking past us on the closed branch and followed him which led us to their branch in Lucky Chinatown. I got confused cause we ate at Lan Zhou La Mien but this one is San Guo La Mien. Got in, checked the menu and it’s the same. I was so happy that the taste didn’t change. Dumplings with lots of meat. Beef hofan with lots of beef. One serving of their dry noodles can already feed 2-3 people. Definitely worth it
